OUR STORY

In 2020 we moved a 122 year old church building to the tranquil shores of Chain Lakes, Manitoba.  Only a crazy South African boy and a country Manitoban girl, with the power of Holy Spirit would be gutsy enough to take an old worn down building and see it’s potential.

It started off in 1899 as the Chain Lakes Quaker House of Friends.  The first pastor, a woman, Miss Alma Dale, lead its opening services.  The Quakers, friends of Holy Spirit, would pray and worship waiting for His presence.  They would often quake which resulted in the Quaker name.

Jaco from Carnarvon, South Africa and Corrie from Deloraine, Manitoba met on the mission field in Zambia, Africa.  They began their married life in the jungles of Africa training agriculture (Foundations for Farming) and raising 3 babies.  As missionaries in Africa, Canada and around the world they have seen first hand how Jesus is in the business of restoration.

The restoration process of the LifeHouse came through many volunteers and community members.  At each moment along the way, Holy Spirit would send the next necessary person.  The restoration happened through normal, ordinary people and often the rejected.  This is how Holy Spirit works…He takes the rejected and restores it to beauty.
